The 518 Barber Shop OPENS April 13, 2026, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the old Lane Emporium located at 2960 State Hwy 30 Speculator, NY

Tuesday - 11AM to 6PM

Wednesday 8AM to 4PM

Thursday 8AM to 4PM

Friday 8AM to 4PM

Saturday 7AM to 1PM

Sunday - CLOSED

Every 4th Saturday of the calendar month, Closed for, community activities, rest, children with disabilities case by case individualized haircuts.

For a few weeks till Mid-May, I more likely will be Open 7 days a week, Most haircuts last 3-4 weeks before the next visit. I realize it is Mud season, but I am happy with a soft opening.

I am the only barber now. Please be patient, not rude, not making demands, not cancelling.

Allow the process of a new business growth to mature into a balance of creating client to owner friendships and community relations.

Our preferred method of booking is by the app called Booksy you can download on your phone and search the 518 Barbershop a subdivision of American Beard and Body which will be active starting Saturday April 5, 2026.

We are currently CASH ONLY as there is a Atm at NBT bank.

We are getting quotes from merchant processing company's however the fees will be added on top of every sale 4%. We do not keep these fees, you pay the fee as a convenience to cash, The 4% goes directly to the merchant processor who, rents us the terminal, does the accounting work and makes their own profit. It's illegal for me to take your money 4% and use it for anything.

To own a business, it takes time to cut hair and time to run the back office, purchase supplies, insurance, rent, utilities, etc. Pricing is calculated to provide great service, where you no longer need to drive to other counties for a haircut. Rising gas prices, wear and tear on your vehicle, TIME, etc. are all good reasons for giving us a shot. We will not be everyone's cup of tea. Tea comes in many flavors. We may not be your flavor. We will always respect your decisions as the space goes way beyond your haircut.

My skill set is in combovers, regular haircuts, tapers, mullets, fades, lineups, pompadours, hot towel shaves. I will take Male and Female Clients. If I think I cannot perform your desired request after our consultation, I will not just cut your hair to charge you. You will be referred to someone else with more experience. We do not provide burst fades, no hair coloring, no beard dyeing.

Barbers and hairdressers have similarities but are very different with NYS Licensing guidelines and training.

7AM to 8AM Early Bird gets the Worm Cut.; - I live in Amsterdam, NY; I will come in early if requested prior to 8AM - $50.00 minimum.

Person with disabilities based on a case-by-case scenario and a consultation over the phone, will be able to utilize the shop every 4th weekend 8 AM to 12 PM. I specialize in autism haircuts with a defined methodology. There will be no one in the shop but us. - $40.00 minimum. The goal is to make your child feel more at ease and in case there are outbursts, parents do not have to feel embarrassed, etc.

The space after hours will be utilized as a Community Center and will offer many Hands-on Crafting by a local artist and community leader. Rental availability for Birthday Parties, Etc.

Our Open House is April 11, 2026, from 9AM to 1PM. Chocolate fountain, popcorn, refreshments, free carnations, 3 raffles for summertime gifts. While supplies last. No purchase necessary.

Our Grand Opening is June 20, 2026, 10 AM to 1 PM and more information will follow.
